    Este artículo se acerca a la representación audiovisual del sistema jurídico norteamericano y quiere posicionar como objeto de estudio el acto jurídico del juicio con jurado popular desde su representación fílmica, en este caso, televisiva. Analiza, además, cómo esta representación se ha convertido en un proceso familiar a nuestra cultura latina, pese a ser tan característico del sistema anglosajón y, sin embargo, muy pocas veces está representada en las narraciones audiovisuales españolas.

    Desde el Derecho comparado, analizamos las diferencias entre la institución del jurado en España y en Estados Unidos, e intentamos dilucidar si esta diversidad es la causante de que, en las representaciones norteamericanas, esta figura sea tan habitual y, en las narraciones españolas, no aparezca apenas ninguna representación de esta institución jurídica.

    Tomaremos como objeto de estudio la película para televisión (TV movie) Phil Spector, dirigida, en 2013, por David Mamet para la cadena de televisión por cable HBO, en la que se produce un momento muy significativo y diferencial de la representación de los juicios con jurado que muestran el signo de los tiempos.

    This contribution approaches the media presentation of the American juridical system and focuses on the study matter of the jury trial and its media performance. As well as how this presentation has been adopted by our Latin culture, even if it is something genuinely American. Only a few times has this legal institution been played in the Spanish media narrations.

    In this paper we analyse the differences between the institution of the trial jury in Spain and in the USA from the comparative law perspective. We try to discover if this difference is the reason why it is so common in the American media narrative, though in the Spanish narrative there is hardly any representation of this judicial institution.

    We focus on the Tv movie Phil Spector, directed by David Mamet, in 2013, for the cable television channel HBO, as matter of study. In that film there is a very differential and momentous sketch in the showing of the jury trial that proves the sign of times.
