  The patriarchal system, as a set of dominant rules and values in society, influences all spheres and areas of society and also the production of space. The spatial configuration reproduces the public-private dichotomy and the sexual division of labor, but at the same time, the space reproduces and contributes to the expansión of these dualisms. The development of the modern city is based in the secual division of labor, where particular functions and activities are associated to each space and where productive activities have priority in the urban design, not making visible the needs of the reproductive sphere
