  • "Padre e figlio" by Max Seidel: social history research, transalpine Gothic, the 'assimilation' of the art of Nicola and Giovanni Pisano.

    The author dwells in particular on various topics dealt with Max Seidel in his two-volume work "Padre e figlio. Nicola e Giovanni Pisano" (Venice, Marsilio 2012), in the chapters 'Il dialogo' and 'Ricerche di storia sociale'. At the end he reflects on the assimilation of the art the two great sculptors by Sienese goldsmiths.
