En el presente artículo se analiza el archivo fotográfico Odette Lemaître, viajera francesa que, junto a su esposo Henri, recorrió diferentes países del continente africano, así como varias ciudades de Francia, España y Portugal, durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. El fondo fotográfico descubre las diferentes inquietudes del matrimonio Lemaître: las instantáneas de ciudades y monumentos revelan el interés histórico-artístico, las fotografías de las distintas comunidades y sus costumbres muestran su atención en el ámbito etnográfico y antropológico, mientras que las imágenes de las cacerías en África son claro ejemplo de su afición cinegética. Todo ello proporciona información muy variada, lo que otorga a este fondo un importante valor documental.

In this article the photographic archive of Odette Lemaître is being analysed. She was a French explorer who, along with her husband Henri, travelled extensively through different African countries, as well as several cities in France, Spain and Portugal, during the first half of the 20th century. The photographic collection shows the different concerns of the Lemaître couple:
snapshots of cities and monuments reveal their historical and artistic interests, photographs of different people and customs show their interest in the ethnographic and anthropological aspects, while images of the hunts in Africa are a fine example of their love of hunting. All this provides a variety of information, which undoubtedly contributes to enhance the documentary value of these documents.
