    Con el fin de contribuir al debate acerca de la actualidad del marco categorial de la sociología, el presente trabajo aborda la clásica problemática del cambio social, según los desarrollos de Talcott Parsons. Con ese propósito, se integran dos tareas: por un lado, la identificación de distintas etapas dentro de su obra, concatenadas por la hipótesis de que a cada transformación del aparato conceptual le corresponde una modificación en su teoría del cambio; por el otro, una indagación holista que permite apreciar la evolución al interior del esquema conceptual parsoniano, pues la teoría del cambio pasa de ser categoría residual a elemento problemático.

    In order to contribute to the debate about the timeliness of the categorical framework of sociology, the aim of this article is to deal with the classic problem of social change according to the ideas developed by Talcott Parsons. With that aim, it combines two tasks: on the one hand, identifying the different stages in his work, linked according to the hypothesis that every transformation of the conceptual apparatus has a corresponding modification in his theory of change; and, on the other hand, a holistic inquiry that makes it possible to see an evolution within Parsons's conceptual framework, since the theory of change moves from being a residual category to becoming a problematizing element.
