Presentational sentences like Into the forest ran Robin Hood, which are so characterized in terms of their construction and thus named constructionally presentational (CP) sentences, are not always acceptable in any context. This paper proposes a discoursal notion ‘c-subtopical’ and shows that this notion is essential in determining the acceptability of a CP sentence in a context given. Namely, a CP sentence is unacceptable if the rightward moved noun phrase in it (e.g. Robin Hood in the above example) is c-subtopical.
