Según casi todas las ediciones de La Celestina, Sempronio le dirige a Calisto la frase «Testigo es el cuchillo de tu abuelo» en el auto i. No obstante, conforme a algunos testimonios y a las costumbres tipográficas de la época, cabría leer cuchillo como cuquillo sin alterar la materialidad del texto original.
In almost all editions of La Celestina, Sempronio says to Calisto in act I: «Testigo es el cuchillo de tu abuelo». However —according to some testimonies and contemporary typographic uses—, cuchillo might be read as cuquillo, without changing the literal wording of the original text.
