Chih-Yang Chao, Pei-Yu Ku, Yi-Ting Wang, Yen-Hui Lin

  • The study examines the interaction between job satisfaction and ethical climate on service quality in Taiwan's elderly care. Factors that may affect the quality of elderly care service were investigated using questionnaires given to a sample of caregivers at eight care facilities in Taiwan. The findings of this study support a positive relationship between job satisfaction and service quality in elderly care: higher job satisfaction among the caregivers facilitates better service quality. The interaction between job satisfaction and ethical climate, which is important to the disabled elderly, was found to be significant. Also, caregivers having greater job satisfaction within a high ethical climate provided better service.
