    Las insurrecciones que se están sucediendo en los países árabes y el asombro y las torpes respuestas que Occidente muestra ante ellas, están poniendo de relieve (además del hartazgo de aquellas sociedades por causa de las élites que las vienen gobernando) la hipocresía del discurso multicultural incapaz de admitir que hay otras sociedades que son mucho más dinámicas y complejas de lo que habitualmente se presupone. Estas sublevaciones nos están revelando la imposibilidad de Occidente para entender que existen unos “otros” que también pueden estar íntimamente divididos y que lejos de identificarse llanamente con sus costumbres, pueden querer alejarse de ellas y rebelarse, sin que ello signifique que ya sean o quieran ser como nosotros. En definitiva, están desenmascarando un discurso que se encuentra impedido para reconocer que existen otras modernidades diferentes de la occidental, unos “otros reales” que no se corresponden con los de los ritos ancestrales, los fundamentalismos o el saber premoderno.

    The insurrections that are happening in the Arabic countries and the amazement and the awkward answers that Occident shows before them, are emphasizing (besides the saturation of the society about the governing elites) the hypocrisy of the multicultural speech unable to admit that there are other companies that are much more dynamic and complex than habitually is presupposed. These revolutions are revealing the impossibility of Occident to understand that there exit others, and these, also are divided intimately, without identification with their own customs, and without it means that already they would like to be like us. Definitively, they are unmasking a speech that is prevented to admit that there exists other modernity different from the western one, some other that doesn ́t correspond with those of the ancestral rites, the fundamentalism or the premodern knowledge.
