  The author, convinced that sound creates the ‘form’, has analyzed the neologisms of nomina agentis in -trix, from the origins of Latin litera­ture up to the time of Apuleius, with the aim of demonstrating that many neologisms or absolute hapax in -trix were created for assonance with other words in -trix.

  L’autrice, persuasa che il suono crea la “forma”, ha condotto un’in­dagine sistematica, che parte dal latino arcaico fino ad Apuleio, per dimostrare che molti neologismi o hapax assoluti, formati con il suf­fisso dei nomina agentis in -trix, sono nati all’interno di contesti in cui l’assonanza, con altri lessemi in -trix, può essere stata stimolo per la creazione di nuovi vocaboli.
