The Museum of Palenzuela was created based on two fundamental goals – on the one hand, it is intended to achieve the people’s ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of the village’s heritage. In order to do so, the tower of the clock of the City Hall was restored, so as to show its different and original materials from various epochs. These materials have been given by the City Hall, the Parish Council, the Museum of Palencia and people from the village. On the other hand, we wanted to awaken the villagers AWARENESS of the value of their village and of its own value. They are, indeed, the authentic owners of the heritage of their village. Moreover, they are the ones who have made this museum possible, as the funding received for its execution was small and they were, therefore, who mostly participated in its execution. Their initial reluctance gave way to curiosity and a participative synergy. The management of the museum is handled by volunteer work. The museum can also be visited on the internet in its website and through the different social networks.
