The final aim of this project consists in contributing a better knowledge of the rail, as far as its field of stability in the horizontal range is concerned.
Our aim consists in determining the influence which the various elements have over the lateral stability of each type of rail, and for this purpose the security coefficient against bending is being determined, parting from the resistance of ballast when sliding and the rigidity of the rail grating. Moreover, some interesting conclusions are being drawn with regard to the behavior of rail stability.
