Resumen de José Antonio Jiménez Salas, la investigación y el Cedex

En las presentes páginas se presenta la opinión de su autor en relación con la labor de investigación y, concretamente, en el Cedex del Profesor D. José Antonio Jiménez Salas, Ingeniero de Caminos Canales y Puertos y miembr o de número de la Real Academia de Ciencias Físicas, Naturales y Exactas. Aprovechando la historia personal del autor, próxima en algunas etapas a la del Pr of. Jiménez Salas, se presenta el desarrollo y empuje que éste dio a la investigación, tomando como base los medios disponibles en el “Laboratorio del Transporte” del Cedex, citando a diversos investigadores del mismo y trabajos desarr ollados por ellos. En la exposición se intenta pr esentar la relación conjunta del Cedex y la Universidad que el Pr of. Jiménez Salas tenía siempre en mente.

In this article the author discusses the research work conducted at the Public Works Testing and Research Centre, Cedex, by Professor José Antonio Jiménez Salas, a Civil Engineer and full member of the Royal Academy of Physical, Natural and Exact Sciences. The author, who coincided with Professor Jiménez Salas over various stages of his life, draws on both his own personal knowledge of the professor and the documentation available at the Cedex “Transport Laboratory” to describe the development and impetus he gave to research work, citing various researchers from the centre and the work carried out by the same. This testimony underlines the close relation between the Cedex and the University that was so important to Professor Jiménez Salas.
