  • The article discusses the interest of private equity (PE) firms in the oil exploration and production (E&P) industry. Topics explored include the return on investment being sought by PE firms from the oil and gas market, the acquisition of assets of oil and gas firm First Oil by a PE firm based in Hong Kong, China, and the difference in the way PE firms and their corporate counterparts view infrastructure of the oil E&P sector.
