  • The article discusses the Brazil government's efforts to reduce poverty from the 1980s through the mid 2010s. An overview of the Brazilian President Inácio Lula da Silva's economic reforms, including his program known as the Bolsa Família (Family Grant) program that provided economic assistance to poor families in extreme poverty, is provided.
