    La Terapia Ocupacional nace en España en el siglo XV y a partir del siglo XVIII se difunde por Europa y Norte América. En nuestro país sufre un retroceso del que no se recuperara hasta mediados del siglo XX. Será en este siglo XX cuando esta profesión viva su mayor crecimiento en el ámbito mundial y cuando con su desarrollo universitario se vea obligada a desarrollar sus fundamentos y las bases de su organización del conocimiento. En el comienzo del siglo XXI esta profesión ve cómo pueden peligrar los logros conseguidos hasta este momento y requiere evolucionar como el resto de las profesiones, a través de la investigación.

    Occupational Therapy born in Spain in the fifteenth century, but it is in the seventeenth century when it diffused throughout Europe and North America. In our country it suffers a setback of no recovery until mid-twentieth century. It is in this century when this profession alive its global growth as its university development, it is forced to develop their foundations and bases of knowledge organization. At the beginning of the century, this profession see how it can lose the gains, it had been achieved until now and this requires evolve like other professions, through research.
