    This article approaches the intersections between Psychoanalysis and Culture, focusing on the cultural and scientific impact that the Theory of the Unconscious provoked. The author also presents a brief social and political panorama of the beginnings of Psychoanalysis and concludes with considerations on the legacy that Psychoanalysis has brought to the contemporary culture.

    O artigo aborda as interseções entre Psicanálise e Cultura, enfocando o impacto científico-cultural que a Teoria do Inconsciente provocou, para depois apresentar um breve panorama sócio-político da criação da Psicanálise. Por fim considera o legado que a psicanálise trouxe à cultura contemporânea.
