Resumen de La perspectiva de género en las políticas de salud reproductiva

  Después de la Conferencia Internacional sobre la Población y el Desarrollo de El Cairo en 1994, el gobierno mexicano se comprometió a impulsar políticas públicas para superar las inequidades de género. El término se popularizó y se hizo común en el discurso oficial. Este ensayo muestra las divergencias oficiales en torno al tema y subraya la necesidad de una reflexión profunda que otorgue a la perspectiva de género su significado subversivo e igualitarista. Aquí examinamos si en realidad las políticas de salud en planificación familiar se orientan a mejorar la equidad entre hombres y mujeres.

  After the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in El Cairo, the Mexican government made a commitment in order to urge public policies with the clear intention of overcoming gender inequities. The term got quite popular and it became officially accepted. This essay shows official divergences in regards to the mentioned topic and it enhances the necessity of a deep consideration in order to recover the subversive and egalitarian meaning of the term "gender perspective". This work examines whether health policies of familiar planification are actually oriented towards improving the equity between men and women or not.
