  • The article examines reaction to an experiment by the news agency the Huffington Post (HuffPo) in which it crowdfunded a one-year reporting fellowship for journalist Mariah Stewart to cover the aftermath of the 2014 police shooting of teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. It covers criticism of HuffPo, a company with a market capitalization of $3.44 billion, for seeking donations for its $40,000 project. Comments from HuffPo founder Arianna Huffington concerning the HuffPo annual budget are included.
