"Healing Man. The Mercy of Jesus according to Matthew". Mercy is central to the mission of Jesus as desribed by the first gospel. This mercy, which he in turn requires from his disciples (Matt 5:7), is recorded in his name (cf. 1:21), and manifests itself in a forgiveness which can heal man freeing him from sin and making him capable of living the Gospel (9:9-13). His generous self-giving on the cross will be the source of that renewing forgiveness (cf. 26:28).

Guarire l'uomo. La misericordia di Gesù secondo Matteo". La misericordia è fondamentale per la missione di Gesù, così come viene descritta dal primo Vangelo. Questa misericordia, che Egli a Sua volta richiede dai Suoi discepoli (Mt 5,7), è iscritta nel Suo nome (cfr 1,21) e si manifesta in un perdono che può guarire l'uomo liberandolo dal peccato e rendendolo capace di vivere secondo il Vangelo (9,9-13). Il generoso dono di sé sulla croce sarà la fonte di quel perdono rinnovatore (cf. 26,28).
