  • The article considers whether the microbogging Website Twitter has a future as a medium for literature. Twitter's parent company has hosted a Fiction Festival in which various writers including Elliott Holt contributed to collaborative stories. David Mitchell and Jennifer Egan are among authors who have produced works on Twitter. The author regards literature on Twitter as a kind of performance art that suffers from the Website's technical peculiarities and limitations. She says how people experience Twitter differs from how they read immersive fiction.
