  • The article explores the unresolved science and politics of low-dose radiation exposure. Topics discussed include a description of the Castle Bravo nuclear weapon test conducted by the U.S. military in the Marshall Islands on March 1, 1954, the high levels of radiation that was recorded on the islands, and the discoveries made by Marshall Islands advisor Holly Barker on the effects of radiation on the islanders. Also discussed is the association between nuclear radiation and several types of cancers based on several studies
