  Este artículo recoge el trabajo de una serie de investigaciones de caracterización en fatiga de un material compuesto sometido a cargas de compresión mediante el denominado ‘método de Castillo’, que permite estimar la vida útil de un material a través del tratamiento estadístico de los resultados de ensayo. Se exponen las primeras fases del proceso, que consisten en la fabricación de las probetas, su ensayo y la obtención de las curvas S-N, dejando la aplicación del método para publicaciones posteriores Las pruebas de laboratorio han sido llevadas a cabo en las instalaciones del Departamento de Materiales y Estructuras del INTA.

  This work represents the first stage of a series of investigations over the characterization of composites under compressive fatigue loads using the Castillo’s Method, which leads to life estimations of materials through statistical treatments of test data. The first phase of the process is shown in this paper and consists of the test samples manufacturing, their testing and the S-N curves, leaving the application of Castillo’s Method for future works. The process has been carried out in the facilities of the INTA Materials and Structures Department
