  History of the Alfianello and Trenzano meteorites fall in the province of Brescia in the second half of 1800. At the Museum of Natural Sciences of Brescia are kept two meteorites of great historical value: Trenzano and Alfianello.

  Trenzano fell November 12th 1856 in Trenzano (Brescia), while Alfianello fell to Alfianello (Brescia) February 16th, 1883; both take their name from the places where they fell.

  The first had a weight of about 9 kg, the weight of the meteorite fragments can only be conjectured by the sum of the weight of the pieces reported in various museums and private, the second instead of about 200 kg.

  Fragments of the two meteorites, between the late 1800s until about the mid 1900s, were sold, or mysteriously disappeared into private collections.

  At present some pieces can be found in the most important natural history museums in the world.

  In this article has been rebuilt their history evidenced by documents and letters of great scientific interest in a period marked by struggles and revolutionary movements that lead to the unification of Italy

  Al museo di Scienze Naturali di Brescia sono custodite due meteoriti di notevole valore storico: Trenzano e Alfi anello. Trenzano cadde il 12 Novembre 1856 a Trenzano (Brescia) mentre Al-fi anello cadde ad Alfi anello (Brescia) il giorno16 Febbraio 1883. Entrambe prendono il loro nome dalla località dove sono cadute.

  La prima aveva un peso di circa 9 kg, il peso della meteorite e dei frammenti si può solo ipotizzare facendo la somma del peso dei pezzi segnalati nei vari musei e da privati, la seconda invece di circa 200 kg.

  Frammenti delle due meteoriti, tra la fi ne del 1800 fi no a metà circa del 1900, furono venduti, o misteriosamente sparirono nelle collezioni di privati.

  Attualmente alcuni pezzi si possono trovare nei più grandi musei di scienze naturali.

  In questo articolo è stata ricostruita la loro storia testimoniata da documenti e missive di notevole interesse scientifi co in un periodo segnato da battaglie e moti rivoluzionari che porteranno all’unità d’Italia
