A relação do assistente social com a pessoa utilizadora do serviço apresentasse como fundamental e inquestionável na prática profissional do assistente social, mas não deixam de levantar-se questões quanto à sua configuração e às condições necessárias à sua efetivação. Propõe-se neste artigo uma reflexão sobre a relação profissional que se estabelece com a pessoa utilizadora do serviço no contexto da trajetória histórica do Serviço Social, enquadrando-a na perspetiva das forças, e sem deixar de ter em conta o olhar e análise dos utilizadores dos serviços. The relationship between the social worker and the user is unquestionable in the social worker professional practice but it still remain some questions about the framework ant the conditions that it will be required for that. We propose a reflection about the relationship that the social worker establish with the user on the context of the social work history, in the strengths perspective framework and also considering the users perspective about the relationship in which they are involved.
