AB Type 2 diabetes has progressed into a major contributor to preventable death, and developing optimal therapeutic strategies to prevent future type 2 diabetes and its primary clinical manifestation of cardiovascular disease is a major public health challenge. This article will provide a brief overview of the role of activity and exercise in modulating insulin sensitivity and will outline the effect of physical activity, high-intensity interval training, and resistance training on insulin sensitivity and glycemic control
