Resumen de Una tierra, un Señor y una dama: genealogía y heterodoxia en la "Comedia Jacinta" de Bartolomé de Torres Naharro

This article shows how Bartolomé de Torres Naharro presents in his Comedia Jacinta a number of characters, who revisit, through their origins and heterodoxical beliefs, the motif of Noah’s three sons.Through the reconstruction of the peninsular and European reception of the topos, Torres maintains that Jacinto did descend from Japhet via Magog, father of the Goths; that the Roman Jew Phenicio did descend from Cham via his son Phenicio; and that the Spanish convert Precioso did represent the sons of Sem.The origins and beliefs of the three characters exalt the union of the peoples of the world and represent a praise of “Divina,” the recipient of the festivities celebrated in the play. Phenicio, Precioso and Jacinto recognize Divina’s absolute reign over men. The heterodoxical origins of the characters is clearly related to the final intention of the play, the praise of women

El siguiente artículo muestra la forma en que Bartolomé de Torres Naharro presenta en su Comedia Jacinta una serie de personajes que, por medio de referencias más o menos veladas a sus orígenes y creencias heterodoxas, reconstruyen el motivo de los tres hijos de Noé. A partir de seguir la recepción europea y peninsular del motivo se plantea cómo Jacinto sería descendiente de Jafet por vía de su hijo Magog, el romano judío Phenicio sería descendiente de Cam por vía de su hijo Fenicio y el converso Precioso representaría a los hijos de Sem. Los orígenes y creencias de los personajes sirven paraensalzar la unión de las gentes del mundo en alabanza de “Divina”, la receptora de la fiesta. Phenicio, Precioso y Jacinto cumplen con su función de “gentes del mundo”: reconocer la supremacía absoluta de Divina sobre todos los hombres. La heterodoxia de los personajes (que la hay y muy clara) se supedita a la loa de la mujer, verdadero fin de la obra.
