Resumen de Una 'fistula aquaria' della 'res publica cumanorum' a San Marino

A 'fistula aquaria' of the 'res publica Cumanorum' is preserved –after an endowment– in the National Museum of the Republic of San Marino. This 'fistula' was part of the Cuman pipelines that istributed the water coming from Serino’s aqueduct (built by the emperor Augustus before 10 D). The pipelines fed also thermae and public fountains, built up by local euergetes in connection o the renewal of the city in the Augu-stan age. The inscription attests that the water –once ntered from the aqueduct in the city pipelines– belonged to the heritage of the Cumans, since it as probably donated to the community by the Emperor.

Una 'fistula aquaria' della 'res publica Cumanorum' è conservata nel Museo di Sta-to della epubblica di San Marino, alla quale fu donata. A 'Cumae', la 'fistula' era par-te delle condotte che istribuivano l’acqua proveniente dall’acquedotto del Serino costruito da Augusto prima del 10 .C. ed alimentavano, tra l’altro, terme e fonta-ne pubbliche, espressione dell’evergetismo di otabili locali, connesso al rinnova-mento urbanistico della città in età augustea. Il testo pigrafico ttesta che l’acqua apparteneva al patrimonio dei Cumani, una volta immessa dall’acquedotto ella de-rivazione di loro pertinenza, essendo stata verosimilmente loro donata dal principe.
