Resumen de Euskal autonomia erkidegoko ekonomiaren lurraldez kanpoko erantzukizun sozio-ekologikoa

  El objetivo prinicipal del artículo es, tomando como base la economía de la Comunidad Autónoma del País Vasco (CAV), analizar los daños socio-ecológicos que generan las regiones ricas del Norte Global fuera de sus fronteras, principalmente en el Sur. Para ello, estudiamos el metabolismo social de la CAV, el origen de sus importaciones y los daños generados en su extracción, y las actividades de las empresas vascas en el extranjero. Encontramos que los Requerimientos Totales de Materiales de la CAPV estan entre los más elevados de los países del Norte.

  Estos requerimientos se abastecen en un 91% de importaciones, donde destacan las importaciones de metales, los combustibles fósiles y sus Flujos Ocultos. A partir de tres casos de estudio realizados en Bolivia, Indonesia y el Océano Índico, analizamos las consecuencias de esta dependencia exterior. Los resultados de la investigación muestran la responsabilidad socio-ecológica extraterritorial que tiene la economía vasca en este mundo globalizado, y la necesidad de tenerla en cuenta para construir un futuro más sostenible y justo.

  Based on the economy of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country (AC-BC), the article aims to analyze the socio-ecological damages that the rich regions of the Global North generate outside its borders, especially in the South. With this aim we analyze the social metabolism of the AC-BC, the origin of its imports and the associated impacts in the extraction frontiers as well as the the activities of Basque companies abroad. We found that the Total Material Requirements of the AC-BC are among the highest of Northern countries. 91% of these requirements are satisfied with inputs that are coming from abroad, where the weight of metal and fossil fuel imports and the associated Hidden Flows stands out. Using three case studies conducted in Bolivia, Indonesia and the Indian Ocean, we analyze the consequences of this external dependence. The results show the extraterritorial socio-ecological responsibility of the Basque economy in this globalized world, and the need to take it into account in order to build a more sustainable and just future.

  Artikuluaren xede nagusia, Euskal Autonomia Erkidegoko (EAE) ekonomia oinarri hartuta, Iparralde Globaleko eskualde aberatsek beren lurraldez kanpo, bereziki Hegoaldean, eragiten dituzten kalte sozio-ekologikoak aztertzea da. Horretarako, EAEren metabolismo soziala, bere inportazioen jatorria eta hauen erauzketan sorturiko kalteak, zein euskal enpresen atzerriko jarduerak aztertzen ditugu. EAEren Eskaera Material Osoa Iparraldeko altuenen artean dagoela aurkitzen dugu. Eskaera hori atzerriko baliabideekin asetzen da %91n, non metal eta erregai fosilen inportazioak eta, berauen Ezkutuko Fluxuak gailentzen diren. Bolivian, Indonesian eta Indiar Ozeanoko kostetan garaturiko hiru ikerketa kasuren bidez, kanpo menpekotasun honek atzerrian eragiten dituen kalteak aztertzen ditugu.

  Ikerketaren emaitzek agerian uzten dute, mundu globalizatu honetan, euskal ekonomiak duen lurraldez kanpoko erantzukizun sozio-ekologikoa eta berau aintzakotzat hartu beharra etorkizun sostengarri eta bidezkoago bat eraikitzeko.
