Resumen de O bilinguismo na épica portuguesa do período filipino: entre a expressão autonómica, a afirmação identitária e a importância do contexto cultural espanhol envolvente

If, during the Philippine period in Portugal (1580-1640), the epic production in the Portuguese cultural context was intense, either in Portuguese or Spanish, and even in this last situation by Portuguese authors, it has been controversial the way how this phenomenon has been approached: if some criticism sees it as the most complete expression of the autonomic spirit, others consider it as a manifestation of the strong influence of the Spanish culture, which protruded at the time at an European level. Others still recognize in it, on the contrary, a mode of greater recognition for the Portuguese letters, as the patriotic penchant of some of these poems is reduced too. Anyway, for any of the alleged titles, it is always to take into account literary, paraliterary and extraliterary factors of the involved period.

Se, durante o período filipino em Portugal (1580-1640) foi intensa a produção épica no contexto cultural português, quer em língua portuguesa, quer castelhana, mesmo nesta última situação de autores portugueses, polémico tem sido o modo como tal fenómeno tem sido abordado: se uns o vêm como a expressão acabada do espírito autonómico, outros consideram-no como manifestação da forte influência da cultura espanhola, que ao tempo se projetava a nível europeu. Outros ainda reconhecem nesse caso, pelo contrário, um modo de maior reconhecimento para as letras portuguesas, já que o pendor patriótico de alguns poemas também é reduzido. Em qualquer situação, para qualquer dos títulos aduzidos, é sempre de ter em conta fatores literários, paraliterários e extraliterários do período em causa.
