Resumen de Estimulación cognitiva asistida con dispositivos tablet en demencia: revisión bibliográfica

  Objetivo: Buscar los artículos e investigaciones sobre estimulación cognitiva asistida con dispositivos tablet en personas con demencia, analizar sus contenidos y el estado actual de la investigación científica relacionada.

  Métodos Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de la literatura actual de interés, mediante la búsqueda en diferentes bases de datos científicas (Biblioteca Cochrane Plus, Trip Database, OT Seeker, OT CATs, PEDro, Pubmed (MEDLINE) y Web of Knowledge) y diversas páginas webs de índole relevante. En esta revisión se han incluido los artículos desde el año 2004 hasta nuestros días. Se han tenido en cuenta diferentes criterios de inclusión, como la tipología del estudio, participantes, intervención, idioma, cronología, cobertura geográfica, etc.

  Resultados Los reducidos resultados muestran que la estimulación cognitiva asistida con dispositivos tablet podría ser eficaz para mejorar la función cognitiva de las personas con demencia.

  Conclusión Existe una escasa literatura que relaciona la estimulación cognitiva asistida con dispositivos tablet en personas con demencia por lo que consideramos necesario realizar futuras líneas de investigación con un mayor tamaño muestral para comprobar la eficacia de la misma. El tratamiento de estimulación cognitiva asistida con dispositivos tablet puede ser una intervención novedosa y complementaria de las terapias que reciben de manera habitual las personas con demencia.

  Objective: To search items and investigators about supported cognitive stimulation with tablet devices in dementia, to analyze the contents and the current state of the scientific investigation.

  Methods A bibliographical review is realized about the current interesting literature, though the searching in different scientific database (Biblioteca Cochrane Plus, TripDatabase, OT Seeker, OT CATs, PEDro, Pubmed (MEDLINE) and Web of Knowledge) and various webpages with relevant information. The articles from 2004 until today have been included in this revision. Some aspects such as inclusion criteria, typology of the study, attendees, involvement, language, chronology, geographic situation… have been taken into account.

  Results Reduced results show us that the supported cognitive stimulation with tablet devices could be effective to improve the cognitive function of the people who suffers dementia.

  Conclusions It exists insufficient literature to make a relationship with the supportive cognitive stimulation with tablet devices in dementia, so we consider that it is necessary to realize future investigations to verify the efficient of theses researches. The treatment with supported cognitive stimulation with tablet devices in dementia can be a novel intervention and complementary of the therapies which the people with dementia meet in a routinely way.
