La atención de primaria de salud se caracteriza por ser nivel básico de salud cuyo objetivo es mejorar la salud, disminuir la morbilidad, aumentar la equidad y mejorar la eficacia de los sistemas de salud. Aunque los actuales sistemas sanitarios se han centrado sobre todo en los procesos curativos, relegando a un lado la prevención. El documento analizado recoge evidencia sobre el coste-beneficio que tienen las intervenciones de terapia ocupacional dentro del ámbito de la atención primaria de salud; siendo esta disciplina una de las figuras clave para hacer frente a los desafíos a los que tienen que enfrentarse los actuales sistemas sanitarios.
