The article focuses on business ethics research by Sreedhari Desai, who is an assistant professor of organizational behavior at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina (UNC). Desai found that if an individual perceives someone to have high ethical standards they are less likely to ask that individual to lie or to participate in the dissemination of a lie. This theory was tested through the use of email signatures with quotations about ethics or by noticing which employees regularly displayed religious symbols at the workplace
