En el presente artículo, Alberto F. Roldán realiza una nueva interpretación de la célebre obra de Max Weber: La ética protestante y el espíritu del capitalismo. El autor destaca el contraste que Weber observó en la ética de la Reforma y lo que caracterizó la concepción católica, mostrando que el protestantismo acentuó el carácter ético y concedió una importancia decisiva a la religión como trabajo en el mundo. La mayor creatividad de este ensayo, radica en el esfuerzo del autor por vincular ética, política y educación, mostrando que, para Weber, era necesario realizar un inmenso trabajo de educación política como fin último al que debe tender la sociología.

In this article, Alberto F. Roldán makes a new interpretation of well-known work of Max Weber: The Protestant Ethics and the spirit of capitalism. The author highlights the contrast that Weber found in the ethics of the Reform and what defined the catholic conception, showing that Protestantism remarked the ethic character and granted a decisive importance to religion as work in the world. The most remarkable creativity of this essay, comes from the effort made by the author in order to link ethics, politics and education, showing that, according to Weber, it was necessary to perform an enormous work of politic education as an ultimate goal, which Sociology must aim at.
