    Du message oral au message sur cassette : la communication avec l'absent. L'observation des conditions de la correspondance entre les familles algériennes et leurs émigrés en France introduit à une analyse des instruments dont les membres d'un groupe disposent pour communiquer avec leurs absents : le message oral confié au voyageur ; la lettre, qui dans un premier temps authentifie le message oral qu'elle accompagne, les «lettres de femmes» étant significatives en particulier des changements liés à la diffusion de l'écriture ; enfin, l'enregistrement au magnétophone, spontané et fidèle, réunit toutes les caractéristiques qui concourent à la séduction qu'il exerce auprès des femmes.

    Von der miindlichen Botschaft zur Botschaft auf Kassette : Kommunikation mit dem Abwesenden. Die Beobachtung der Bedingungen, unter denen algerische Familien mit in Frankreich weilenden Angehörigen korrespondieren, führt zu einer Analyse der Kommunikationsmittel, über die die Gruppenmitglieder jeweils zur Verständigung mit den Abwesenden verfügen : die einem Abreisenden anvertraute mündliche Mitteilung ; der Brief, der in einer ersten Phase die mundliche Mitteilung begleitet und deren Echtheit verbürgt, wobei die von Frauen geschriebenen Briefe den Wandel kennzeichnen, der durch Verbreitung des Schreibens eingetreten ist ; schließlich die spontane und zuverlässige Magnetophonaufzeichnung, die in sich alle für Frauen verführerischen Merkmale vereinigt.

    From the Oral Message to the Message on Cassette : Communication with The Absent. Observation of the conditions of correspondence between Algerian families and members of the family who have emigrated to France leads to an analysis of the means available to the members of a group for communicating with those who are separated from them : the oral message, entrusted to a traveller ; the letter, which initially serves to authenticate the oral message which it accompanies (and here «women's letters» are particularly indicative of the changes linked to the spread of writing) ; and finally the tape-recording, which is both spontaneous and faithful and combines ail the characteristics which contribute to the seduction it exerts on women.
