  • Hypertension is the leading risk factor for death and disability worldwide. Dr Chow and colleagues1 provided statistics on prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension among selected high-, middle-, and low-income countries. The proportions of hypertension, awareness, treatment, and control reported in this article were strikingly different from other studies.2- 4
