Mocci. — The Sainte Victoire mountain, from the prehistory until the end of antiquity : the rythms of human occupation (prospectings and inventory), Revue Archéologique de Narbonnaise, t. 25, 1992, p. 265-299. After the fire of 1989, prospectings were carried out on the whole massif of the Sainte Victoire mountain, and since they were done in a diachronic way they allowed to review all the known sites and to identify new ones. A particular attention was given to the interpretation of the site in a research about its environment : what does it tell us on the state of the massif at the time men occupied it ? How was daily life assured ? Therefore a most peculiar attention was given to the agricultural systems. Such an appraisal was necessary to be given to both paleo-environmentalists who work on the same space and to archeologists who prepare the excavations.

  A la suite de l'incendie de 1989, des prospections ont été faites sur l'ensemble du massif de la Montagne Sainte- Victoire. Conduites de manière diachronique, elles ont permis de revoir l'ensemble des sites connus et d'en identifier de nouveaux. Une attention particulière a été portée à l'intégration du site dans une recherche portant sur son environnement : que nous apprend-il sur l'état du massif à l'époque où des hommes l'occupent ? Comment ceux-ci assuraient-ils leur vie quotidienne ? Une attention particulière a donc été portée aux systèmes agricoles. Un tel bilan était nécessaire pour donner un état de la question aux paléo-environnementalistes qui travaillent sur le même espace et aux archéologues qui préparent des opérations de fouilles.
