    This article presents the epistemological foundations of a genetic linguistics of writing arisen from the coexistence of two fields of research. The first one is the concern of morphogenesis and deals with the emergence of scripts in ancient societies ; the second one is a matter for ontogenesis and focuses on the acquisition of writing. Beyond a rapid presentation, we particularly want to explore the idea according to which graphic marks of the first writers just as well the ones of the beginning writers give us information on the "homo scribens" cognitive skills.

    Cet article présente les fondements épistémologiques d'une linguistique génétique de l'écriture, née de la coexistence de deux domaines de recherche. Le premier relève de la morphogenèse et traite de l'émergence des écritures dans les sociétés anciennes ; le second appartient à l'ontogenèse et porte sur l'acquisition de l'écrit. Au-delà d'une présentation rapide, il s'agit surtout d'explorer l'idée selon laquelle les traces graphiques des premiers usagers tout comme celles des apprentis scripteurs nous informent sur les capacités cognitives de Yhomo scribens.
