Australian minsands junior World Titanium Resources Ltd (WTR) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chinese titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) pigment producer, Sichuan Lomon Titanium, for eventual joint development of the Ranobe mine in Madagascar.

Sichuan Lomon is one of the largest producers of sulphate route TiO 2 in China, with two producing plants which it plans to further expand. Its current ilmenite feed requirement is 750,000 tpa, it has indicated to WTR, which it supplies chiefly from its own mining arm. The expansions of its pigment plants would be in part supplied by production from the Ranobe mine.
