Resumen de La iconografía del Inca Garcilaso de la Vega

El pintor Francisco González Gamarra elaboró una serie de representaciones que trataban de mostrar una imagen mestiza del Inca Garcilaso y en torno a esa serie escribió algunas notas y observaciones que se conservan en el archivo familiar del artista en la ciudad de Lima. En este trabajo se ordena el material siguiendo la lógica de quien trabaja disciplinas humanísticas, ofreciendo en orden cronológico unos apuntes en torno a dichas consideraciones. Sin embargo, dejo para más adelante atender como merecen las preguntas de naturaleza estética que han ido esbozándose mientras intentaba ordenar los datos en cuestión. Son preguntas que quieren ir más allá de los datos y corresponden a la estética y la antropología.

The painter Francisco González Gamarra produced a series of representations which were trying to show a mixed picture of the Inca Garcilaso and around such series he wrote some notes and observations which are preserved in the family archive of the artist in the city of Lima. In this work the material is ordered following the logic of those who work humanistic disciplines, offering some notes in chronological order around such considerations. However, I leave for later the answering, as deserve, of the questions of aesthetic nature that have been dawning while trying to sort the data in question. These are queries that want to go beyond the data and correspond to the aesthetics and anthropology.
