This artiele presents the 2002 election results of Sergipe, emphasizing the main fucts that OCCUITed duringthe campaign, the supporting coalitions built in obedience to the "verticalization ofilie elections" as determined by ilie Electoral Courts in an extemporaneous forum, and the votes of the residents of Sergipe for President, the Senate, the House, and State legislature offices. The state government, once again, went tothe political right, although a left leaning candidate did make a presence in the run-off elections, with a real chance at winning, which constitutes an extremely important pobtical fact in the recent history of Sergipe .

Neste artigo apresenta -se os resultados da eleições 2002 em Sergipe, ressaltando os principais fatos ocorridos durante a campanha, as coligações partidárias construídas em obediência a "verticalização das eleições" determinada pela Justiça Eleitoral, de forma extemporânea, e os votos dos sergipanos para Presidente da República, Senado, Câmara Federal e Assembleia Legislativa. O governo do estado, mais uma vez, ficou na mão da direita, embora a presença de um candidato da esquerda no segundo turno, disputando com chances de vitória o cargo, constitui um fato político extremamente importante na história recente de Sergipe.
