  • Resumen
    • A litlle known sculpture cycle in pistoia.

The series of capitals in the interior of the church of San Bartolomeo in Pistoia is presented here for the first time. Until now they have only been rarely and briefly mentioned, and photographs of only two of the capitals have been published. Bearing plant and figurative motifs they are arranged in a rational order with the most interesting capitals from the iconographic standpoint near the altar and where the pulpit was originally positioned. They are analyzed stylistically and iconographically in relation to other Pistoia and Tuscan sites and like the façade, were executed by the circle of Gruamonte and his brother Adeodato.
