  Buying a company and fostering rapid growth through acquisitions (buy-and-build strategy) is the strategy most followed by many companies and in particular by private equity funds.#In recent years one third of acquisitions in the private equity sector have followed this course of action.#Research carried out by the Private Equity & Finance for Growth Laboratory aims to show, from a sample of 231 add-on acquisitions, the reasons and methodologies used by operators in order to verify the effective contribution to value creation.#As a result of market evolution, the research has shown that there has been a move towards models, not based on purely financial strategies, but ones that are more in line with consolidation of the business and the “industrial value” of the company in the long-term.

  Comprare un’azienda e accompagnarla a una rapida crescita attraverso acquisizioni successive (strategie di buy-and-build ): ecco in sintesi un’opzione strategica sempre più seguita dai fondi di private equity.#Negli ultimi anni circa un terzo delle acquisizioni nel private equity hanno seguito questa logica di investimento.#La ricerca condotta dal Laboratorio Private Equity & Finanza per la Crescita si è posta l’obiettivo di analizzare, in un campione di 231 acquisizioni aggregative ( add-on ), le motivazioni e le modalità di realizzazione seguite dagli operatori al fine di verificare l’effettivo contributo alla creazione di valore.#Per effetto dell’evoluzione del contesto di mercato, la ricerca evidenzia un cambiamento verso modelli meno improntati a logiche puramente finanziarie e sempre più attenti al rafforzamento del core business e al valore “industriale” dell’azienda nel lungo termine.
