The resins as cement for adhesive bridges have loong been used as a routine practice. The high acceptance of these kind of bridges for fixed prosthetic restorations is due not only to the new design of wings, the new type of metals, and their surface preparation, but also to the new "active resins", which have chemical bond to the metal.
The purpose of this research is to quantifie the micromechanical and chemycal bond strength of two active resing (Panavia and Dual ABC) to different metals with a different surface treatment (smooth, sand blasted and electrolitically etched). The bond strength is measured by traction tests in a Instron Machine by mean of two discs bonded by one or other resin.
