Resumen de OTCA: el Amazonas en el horizonte de la política exterior colombiana

  Este artículo analiza las causas del olvido al que ha sido sometida la Amazonía colombiana y las implicaciones que esto ha tenido en la política exterior y de frontera del país hacia su vertiente amazónica. Así mismo, sostiene que, en medio de una serie de transformaciones globales, regionales y nacionales, la OTCA se ha venido revitalizando, lo que puede ser el punto de partida para expandir la institucionalidad del Estado por el territorio amazónico y crear dinámicas con los demás países que hacen parte de la organización, para enfrentar las diversas amenazas que se ciernen sobre dicha selva y empezar a aprovechar su potencial estratégico. Además, el mencionado organismo puede constituir un vector de la integración sudamericana que, eventualmente, sería bastante receptivo a un liderazgo de Colombia

  This paper analyzes the causes of forgetfulness that has been a constant in the Colombian Amazon and the implications that it has had on the border and foreign policy in the country. It also argues that taking part of a group of global, regional and national transformations, ACTO has been revitalized, which can be the first step to expand the State’s institutions on the Amazon territory, the starting point to taking advantage of its strategic potential, and to create synergies with other countries that are part of the Organization to confront a set of threats that defying the rainforest. In addition, the agency can be a vector of South American integration that eventually, could be quite receptive to leadership of Colombia
