Resumen de La fidelidad como vocación y sistema político: Un comentario a una meditación de San Ignacio

  La meditación “ El llamamiento del Rey Temporal ayuda a contemplar la vida del Rey Eternal”, con que San Ignacio comienza la segunda semana de sus Ejercicios Espirituales, refleja un sistema político fundado en la fidelidad del caballero, con profundas raíces en los pueblos germánicos. Un sistema que en tiempos de San Ignacio y de Carlos V, su más que probable modelo, había desaparecido. No obstante la fidelidad sigue jugando en el siglo XX un importante papel en la política, como se demuestra con ejemplos de políticos como D. Antonio Maura, el Conde de Vallellano, y D. Antonio Fontán; y no solo en la política sino en todas las relaciones humanas que necesitan de confianza y de fe.

  St. Ignatius’s meditation, “The Earthly King’s call helps contemplating the life of the Eternal King”, which begins the second week of his Spiritual Exercises, reflects a political system founded on the loyalty of the knight, with deep roots in the Germanic peoples. This system had disappeared in the times of St. Ignatius and Charles V, its more than likely model. Nevertheless loyalty keeps playing an important role in the twentieth century politics, as proven with examples of politicians such as D. Antonio Maura, the Earl of Vallellano, and D. Antonio Fontán ; and not only in politics but in all human relationships which are always needed of trust and faith
