Este artículo analiza la metáfora de la lectura como viaje tal y como se presenta en "Celestina" de Fernando de Rojas: un texto que invita al lector a leer al tiempo que viaja a través de textos y a viajar a medida que lee. Este doble proceso se lleva a cabo recorriendo las vías narrativas que se abren por medio de la representación de las camas, que más allá de servir como simples contenedores y productores de significado, funcionan como vías de acceso a diversos significados dentro de "Celestina" y entre otros textos. Este proceso de lectura sirve como una característica distintiva de la modernidad que reformula a un tiempo el potencial narrativo de los objetos y el papel de los lectores en la creación de significados en los albores de la modernidad en la Península ibérica.

This article examines the metaphor of reading as a journey as illustrated by Fernando de Rojas in "Celestina": a text that calls for a kind of reader who both reads through traveling and travels through reading. This process is facilitated by the narrative paths opened by the representation of beds which, beyond serving as repositories and producers of meaning, function as gateways of signification within "Celestina" itself and among other texts. This model of readership serves as a hall mark of modernity that reformulates both the narrative potential of objects and the role of readers in the creation of meaning at the dawn of modernity in the Iberian Peninsula.
