El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar si las dos principales especies de la Pesquería del Gran Sol (rape y merluza) constituyen un único mercado horizontalmente integrado en el espacio de los productos.
Se utiliza un enfoque de cointegración basado en datos mensuales de precios de primera venta para el periodo 2003-2010. Los principales resultados evidencian que los mercados de ambas especies están cointegrados y por lo tanto, constituyen un mercado único. No existe causalidad bidireccional y la merluza es la especie líder
The aim of this paper is to analyze whether the two main species of the fishery of the Grand Sole (monkfish and hake) constitute a horizontally integrated single market in the products’ space. A cointegration approach is used based on monthly price data of first sale for the period 2003-2010. The main results show that the markets of both species are cointegrated and therefore, constitute a single market.
There is no bidirectional causality and hake is the leading species
