  • China Customs apologise for "groundless" data while skewing figures "could backfire" on economy A spokesman for China Customs was forced to give a public apology, admitting that he gave "incorrect" and "groundless" data on Chinese investment figures in April.

    Zheng's apology referred to comments he'd made a day earlier, on 10 April, stating that China's National Development and Reform Commission had approved about Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 7 trillion ($1.13 trillion*) of investment projects in the fourth quarter of 2012, including new roads, railways and airports.
