Resumen de Regulation: Countdown to REACH
The upcoming May deadline is for companies that manufacture or import into the the EU'phase-in' substances in quantities above 100 tpa to register their chemicals with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
The European Industrial Minerals Association (IMA-Europe) warns that the list of "Substances identified by industry to be registered by 31 May 2013" published by the ECHA should be viewed with caution, as a number of the substances listed actually benefit from an exemption.
Any substances assessed as'hazardous' must be notified with an appropriate classification to the ECHA under the CLP Regulation.
